Do you want to know how to feel more confident about your body?
Here’s 5 Ways to Improve Your Body Confidence
Stop following social media accounts…
… that don’t make you feel good. Whether it’s someone who you know and makes you feel less than or it’s an influencer who seems to have it all – aka the Instagram perfect life – P.S. this doesn’t exist!
Remember that social media tends to be the ‘best bits’ – luckily there are now so many great accounts out there now that focus on celebrating each and every body! Cut loose the ones that make you feel crappy, and only follow the ones that make you feel great! Feel free to follow accounts that show you how to feel more confident about your body!
Yes – this includes videos of cute dogs!
Look at yourself in the mirror every day…
… but don’t be Regina George! Instead, say one thing you love (or like) about your body out loud (THIS IS HARD THE FIRST TIME YOU DO IT! But that’s okay, it gets easier each time!). Try not to say the same thing every day… get creative… get some adjectives in there.
If you’re struggling, focus on what your body can do, and celebrate it. For example; “I love my stretch marks because they show my journey into motherhood”, or “my legs are great, they allow me to run and dance”.
Change up your style.
It’s very easy to get stuck in a rut, and when that happens, you can easily lose confidence. Try a fresh outfit, haircut or even something as simple as a different nail colour. Pinterest is amazing for style tips and inspiration!
Treat your body like you love it.
I’m talking self care. Book yourself a ‘me date’ in the diary, and make sure you turn up. What makes you feel good about yourself?
It could be a bath with beautiful scented oils, it could be using a luxurious moisturiser, it could be getting a massage. Do something for yourself. The more you treat your body as though it’s something to be treasured, the more your mind will see it’s value.
Make a list of positive things you like about your body.
Keep this list on your phone, on post it’s around your room, or in a notebook. Every time you have a negative thought about your body, read this list and remember that the negative feelings aren’t based on facts.
Those feelings are based on emotion. You can choose to see those facts over emotion. You can choose to love yourself and your body, just the way you are!
