What is Thai Massage?

Thai Massage is also known as Thai Yoga Massage, or traditionally ‘Nuad Borarn’. In Thailand, it has been passed down through hundreds of generations, used as a way of treating pain and illness.

As travel has grown, the art of Thai massage has become adopted in the Westsern world. It’s now a popular therapy which is used to solve problems both mental and physical. It achieves this by clearing energy channels, also known as ‘Sen’ or ‘Meridians’ – the basic theory behind this being that pain and illness is caused by these pathways being blocked.

Thai massage combines a variety or massage techniques including; acupressure, compression and stretching. Unlike most western massages, you will be fully dressed and lay down on supportive mats on the floor. Your body will be gently manipulated into positions to allow deep stretching and realignment. It is common practice for the therapist to use their hands, thumbs, elbows and arms when performing this treatment.
